In a world where both dad and mom need to build careers in order to give the best future possible to their children, Kinder care is now as vital as ever for child care.

When people talk about saving for their children’s education, they usually think about college. While saving enough money for college is a wise move, they should not overlook the fact that education starts much, much sooner.

The question now is, how much is the cost for Kinder care for preschool for young children? The answer to this question is important not only for parents, but also for the government, policymakers, and service providers.

Who takes care of the children?

That is the problem most working parents face. While most people feel guilty about it, their situation is perfectly understandable. After all, parents do make sacrifices for their kids. So now, who takes care of the children? This is where daycare services help.

The average cost of child care

Since the cost of child care can vary from state to state, we have taken the average cost instead.

Type of careCost
Friends or family members$0 and up
Care in a home-based day care center$7,400
Care in a day care center$9,900
Babysitter$30,400
Nanny$38,800

As you can see, child care can be pretty expensive. Despite the improvements in technology over the last decade that have improved most other industries in cost-effectiveness, daycare centers still rely on the human touch. It is more labor-intensive than most industries. Robots cannot pick up, change diapers, and feed young ones. We still need humans to watch over kids and prevent them from wandering off or eating toxic materials.

Cost of kinder care in VA

According to a recent study, Virginia parents perhaps pay the highest rates for childcare. The same study even showed that sending your kids to daycare is costlier than a four-year college course.

The Economic Policy Institute says Virginia ranks 10th for the most expensive child care out of 50 states.

Daycare for babies and toddlers is more expensive than that for older kids since they need more hands-on care. It also requires having childcare providers in every room. As the kids grow older, the price drops.

Some daycare facilities offer formalized academic kindergarten curriculum, while others take a less formal method. Some programs provide field trips, while others do not let preschool-aged youngsters go anywhere for safety reasons.

Some daycare centers serve all snacks, while others request parents to pack their child’s lunch. Some daycare centers set up extracurricular activities that are appropriate to the children’s age as part of the service offered to families.

The cost of child care may be challenging to many families but are necessary for your child’s development. The good thing is that you will only have to worry about it until your child is self-sufficient.
